Marion, Illinois offers access to outdoor recreation and regional travel corridors in Southern Illinois. Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge is about 10 miles from Marion and offers hiking, fishing, and boating across more than 44,000 acres. Shawnee National Forest is within about 30 miles and includes Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock National Recreation Trail for hiking and scenic overlooks.
